Reflecting on the 2025 Season of Giving

As 2025 has come to a close, Merchants Bank, Merchants Capital, and Merchants Foundation are proud to reflect on the meaningful ways our employees gave back to their communities during our annual season of giving. These efforts are always beloved by Merchants staff, as they provide the opportunity to spread joy collectively in support of nonprofits that improve the lives of residents in their neighborhoods and surrounding communities.

As a company-wide initiative, our Indiana branches and regional offices in major cities such as New York City, Chicago, and Bloomington, Minnesota, were brought together under the shared goal of giving back through acts of kindness both big and small. Each office was encouraged to collect and donate needed items to one of eight identified organizations — Wheeler Mission, Journey Home, Bridges for Life, Refuge of Hope, St. Vincent de Paul CARES, People Serving People, Pacific Garden Mission, and House of Good Deeds.

Merchants’ co-founders, Michael F. Petrie and Randall Rogers, believe that support is most meaningful when it’s personal and local. For that reason, recipient organizations were selected based on the passions of on-site teams at each local office. Some organizations were nominated by team members with firsthand experience, while others were chosen to further support organizations where employees actively volunteer. In addition, Merchants also made a monetary contribution of $10,000, shared among all selected organizations, further strengthening the overall impact.
